Jesus Christ is the walking and breathing fulfillment of God's will- "THY WILL BE DONE." Jesus carried the will of God and the kingdom with Him wherever He went. We now carry this will in us! When Jesus says, "Pray in this manner," He is speaking with a confidence that was born before the foundation of the world. Jesus is giving this confidence to the disciples. He gave this story of confidence to his disciples and He gave this story to us. We give the will of God and His story in this same confidence to others.
WHAT IS THE COST FOR US?
The cost for Jesus was the crucifixion. What is the cost for us?
The cost is our entire way of trying to make life work out. We are confronted with the wisdom of God from the inside out. The cost is a cost of our linear and programmed way of thinking of expecting an outcome. An outcome that if we do A then B will happen. Our knowledge of the way we do life is confronted with Jesus and a whole new way of living life is experienced. When we are confronted with the way of Jesus, we may act as if we are insane, because it turns our way of working life inside out. We learn that we really have nothing to offer and that we are not in control: God is and has always been in control. Jesus walks into the midst of our insanity and says, "I have another way for you; the way and life of the Father." Jesus purchases us out of darkness and places us in a kingdom of life. We live in a place where we regard others as God regards them. Jesus came for us who are the weakest.
Galatians 4:6, "Because you are His sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, 'Abba, Father.'"
THE NEW CREATION THAT GOD HAS CREATED IN US IS HIS WILL-"...THY WILL BE DONE..."
God' s will is not hidden. God's will was finished on the cross; "IT IS FINISHED!"
The will of God is the knowledge of Christ "in us" and this knowledge cause us to walk as if we were raised from the dead! To live a life worthy of God is to live a life as if the work of Jesus is finished.
In Colossians 1:24-27 Paul says." Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. (25) I have become its servant by the commission of God in its fullness-(26) the mystery (Jesus) that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord's people. (27) To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of the mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
